What is it?
SuggestArr is a media automation tool for self-hosted media servers. It reads recently watched titles from Jellyfin, Plex or Emby, finds similar movies, TV shows and anime, and submits them as download requests to Seer. Recommendations come from TMDb by default, or from any OpenAI-compatible LLM that also gives a short reason for each pick.
Beyond automatic suggestions, it supports per-user Trakt history, watch-history CSV imports, and public list imports from MDBList or Trakt. Users can also describe what they want in plain language through AI Search. Request control options include approval before sending to Seer, pausing jobs while requests are pending, and auto-declining stale requests. A cleanup job can remove old unfavorited requests, running in dry-run mode by default.
Setup happens through a web interface with scheduling, user management, live logs and connection tests. It stores data in SQLite, PostgreSQL or MySQL, and offers a public REST API with Swagger UI. It is distributed as a Docker image.
