What is it?
cc-arcade is a Claude Code plugin that adds nine small games and a virtual pet to the area above the prompt. Run /arcade, pick a game such as snake, Tetris, 2048, Minesweeper, Flappy, Pong, a typing test, Space Invaders or a limited first-person shooter, and it plays while Claude handles your request. When Claude finishes its turn, the open game pauses and its status line says so.
The games run inside the plugin without calling the model, so playing uses no tokens. A pet grows from passing and failing test runs, successful git commits and file edits made by Claude's Edit, Write and NotebookEdit tools. Best scores are saved per game across sessions.
The plugin relies on Claude Code function hooks, which are in early access and require the CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_FUNCTION_HOOKS environment variable. It needs an interactive terminal that reports mouse input; headless runs, the desktop app and mobile do not display it.

Things to know
- Requires Claude Code 2.1.269 or later with function hooks enabled via an environment variable.
- Function hooks are in early access and the API can change between Claude Code releases.
- Does not work in claude -p, the desktop app or mobile, and needs a terminal that reports mouse clicks.
