What is it?
Agent HUD is a heads-up display for AI coding agents. It sits at the edge of a Mac screen, at the notch, or as a floating panel, and shows each agent's quotas, balances, token usage and active sessions in one place. A colored glow reflects how much of the most-used quota is consumed, so you can see at a glance which agents are busy, finished or waiting.
From the HUD you can approve, deny or answer an agent's requests and questions, and jump back to a session's thread, tab or terminal pane with one click. Token usage can be broken down by agent, model, session and token kind over periods from 5 hours to 30 days, with history kept locally in SQLite. Costs are shown as estimates at list prices.
The Rust core is built with Tauri 2 and a React interface. macOS is the supported platform today; Windows and Linux builds are in preview. A companion iPhone and Apple Watch app, Agent HUD Remote, syncs through iCloud. The project is Apache-2.0 licensed.

- 02Colored edge glow flags agents that are busy, done, or running low on quota
- 03Approve, deny or answer agent tool requests and questions from the HUD
- 04One-click jump back to a session's thread, tab or terminal pane
- 05Token breakdown by agent, model, session and token kind, stored locally
- 06Built-in MCP server lets agents adjust the HUD layout and query usage data
Use cases
- Keeping track of several coding agents running in parallel on a Mac
- Watching quota burn rates to avoid hitting limits mid-task
- Reviewing which models and sessions consumed the most tokens and cost
- Approving agent actions from a phone or watch while away from the desk
Quick start
- 1
Install with Homebrew on a Mac
brew install --cask jazzenchen/tap/agent-hud - 2
Or install with Node.js on a Mac, Windows or Linux
npx @agenthud/install
