What is it?

Wake is a desktop app that gathers the session history of coding agents on your machine into a single view. Those histories are normally scattered across folders such as ~/.claude and ~/.codex, one per tool. Wake reads them in read-only mode, keeps everything local, and lets you search every title and transcript with full-text search, read conversations with tool calls and images, and resume a session in your terminal or in the agent's desktop app, in the matching project folder.

The app covers more than twenty agents, including Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, Gemini CLI and Copilot CLI, and can also mirror sessions from other machines over SSH. Besides browsing, it can star, pin, export to Markdown, delete to the Trash, and find the sessions taking up the most disk space. A Memory view lists the instruction and memory files agents keep, such as CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md.

Wake also ships a Claude Code and Codex plugin, plus a read-only MCP server (wake-mcp) and a CLI (wake-cli). These let new agent sessions find earlier work in the same project. macOS is the primary platform, with Linux and Windows builds marked experimental.

Key features

  • 01Unified list of sessions from many coding agents, grouped by agent and project
  • 02Full-text search across titles and transcripts, including CJK text and code
  • 03Transcript view with chat bubbles, inline images and collapsible tool calls
  • 04One-click resume in the terminal or the Claude and Codex desktop apps
  • 05Read-only access with all data kept on the local machine
  • 06MCP server and CLI so other agents can search and read your history

Use cases

  • Finding an earlier conversation about a bug or design decision across several agents
  • Resuming work in the right project folder after switching between agents
  • Letting a new Claude Code or Codex session pick up where earlier sessions left off
  • Freeing disk space by finding and removing large agent session logs
