What is it?

PandaCode is a desktop app for working with coding agents. It runs coding CLIs such as Claude Code, Codex, Kimi Code, OpenCode and GLM Coding Plan side by side, and supports Antigravity and xAI's Grok Build through ACP. Projects, Git, a terminal and a browser all live in one window, and each task can use its own harness, model and reasoning effort.

The app is built with Tauri 2, Rust, SQLite and plain TypeScript, and uses the operating system's webview rather than a bundled Chromium. Tasks can run in parallel across projects, can be arranged on a status board, and can be handled by an architect agent with workers. Git worktrees, GitHub pull requests and issues, iOS Simulator and Android emulator tools, and bot integrations for Telegram, Slack, Discord and WhatsApp are also supported.

PandaCode is released under a MIT-based license with an attribution requirement for forks. It has no accounts, license keys or telemetry, and stores conversations and projects locally in SQLite. Prebuilt installers are available for macOS (Apple silicon), Windows x64 and Linux x64.

Key features

  • 01Runs Claude Code, Codex, Kimi Code, OpenCode and other coding CLIs in one window.
  • 02Lets you choose harness, model and reasoning effort per task.
  • 03Provides a status board and parallel tasks across projects.
  • 04Supports agent teams with an architect and up to three workers.
  • 05Includes Git diffs, per-task worktrees and a GitHub view.
  • 06Connects agents to Telegram, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp and a local web chat.

Use cases

  • Comparing or switching between several coding agents on the same codebase.
  • Running multiple agent tasks in parallel across different projects.
  • Reviewing each agent turn's file changes with diffs before committing.
  • Driving a coding agent from a chat app such as Telegram or Slack.

Quick start

  1. 1

    Clone the repository from GitHub

    git clone https://github.com/aicodeking/pandacode.git
  2. 2

Enter the project folder and install dependencies with npm

    npm ci
  3. 3

Start the desktop app in development mode

    npm run desktop

Things to know

  • Prebuilt downloads cover only macOS on Apple silicon, Windows x64 and Linux x64.
  • Release builds are not code-signed, so the OS shows a warning on first launch.
  • Git and at least one coding CLI with its own sign-in must be installed separately.
  • The project uses a custom PandaCode License, not a standard open-source license; forks used commercially must carry a specific notice.
