What is it?
Dr. Claw is a web-based research workspace that organizes an entire research project in one place. You describe an idea in chat, the agent generates a structured research brief and task list, and the Research Lab tracks progress across survey, ideation, experiment, publication and promotion stages. Outputs such as survey reports, experiment code, analysis results, paper drafts and slide decks are written into the project directory.
The backend is multi-agent: it can drive Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, or any model available through OpenRouter. An Auto Research mode runs the generated tasks sequentially and sends an email when finished. The project also ships a library of over 100 research skills that agents discover and apply automatically, plus a news feed aggregating arXiv, Hugging Face, GitHub and other sources.
Dr. Claw runs locally via npx, from source, or as a desktop app, and includes a CLI (drclaw) and an OpenClaw integration for controlling projects from a phone or chat app.

- 05100+ built-in research skills automatically applied by agents
- 06Built-in file explorer, shell, and git source control
Use cases
- Turning a rough research idea into a structured plan and task list
- Running literature surveys and drafting reports with citations
- Executing experiment code and analysis unattended overnight
- Managing multiple research projects from a phone via OpenClaw
Quick start
- 1
Run with npx (no setup needed)
npx dr-claw - 2
Or install globally, then run
npm install -g dr-claw && dr-claw - 3
Open http://localhost:3001 in your browser to create an account
Things to know
- Requires at least one agent CLI (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Codex) installed and configured.
- Some systems need native build tools for node-pty and better-sqlite3 if npm install fails.
- The desktop app is currently in beta.
