What is it?
TronCut is a local desktop app for making tutorials, demos and text-based videos. It records the screen and lets you edit the recording afterwards, including the mouse cursor, which is captured separately from the picture on Windows so its style, size and click highlight can be changed later. Zoom animations can be generated from click and hover positions and can follow the cursor when zoomed in.
The editor provides a multi-track timeline with trimming, splitting, snapping, ripple delete, undo/redo, crop and rotation, color and blur effects, and keyframe animations for position, scale and opacity. Text templates and a separate caption track are available, and captions can be generated locally from timeline audio using Qwen3-ASR or SenseVoice.
Voiceover can be created from typed scripts with Windows system voices, Kokoro or VITS ONNX models, or LuxTTS ONNX voice cloning. Projects are stored as readable JSON with media and cursor data kept in the same folder, and MP4 export tries hardware encoders before falling back to software encoding. A CLI for scripted editing is also included.
