어떤 프로젝트인가요?

convt is a local file converter for macOS and Linux desktops. You right-click a file, pick a target format, and it writes the converted copy next to the original. Images, video, audio, PDFs and office documents are converted on your own machine, so the files never leave your disk.

Conversions are routed through native engines: FFmpeg for video and audio, LibreOffice for Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, PDFium for rendering PDF pages, and the image and resvg libraries for photos and SVG. If no single engine can make the conversion, convt chains up to three steps. The same engines are available through the `convt` command-line tool, which can also list the formats a given file can reach.

The project is written in Rust with a GPUI desktop app. A Finder menu is included on macOS and file manager menus on Linux, and a Windows Explorer menu is in the codebase but not yet in the release installer. A separate paid cloud API and TypeScript SDK exist for server-side conversion.
