PicLite is a local image and animated GIF processing workbench. You drag in images or folders, pick a compression method, compare results with a split-view slider, and export. Changing quality, dimensions or target file size shows the actual encoded output size. The smart mode measures candidates such as JPEG, WebP and PNG and keeps the smallest valid file, skipping JPEG for transparent images.

Beyond compression, it covers batch resizing, text and image watermarks (GIF animation is preserved), format conversion, canvas expansion, rule-based batch renaming and a local gallery. The desktop app adds clipboard-triggered optimization, global shortcuts, multi-folder watching with per-task settings, and a floating result window, and it keeps running from the menu bar or tray after the main window closes. Image hosting uploads to WebDAV, S3/R2, OSS, FTP and SFTP are sent only when the user uploads explicitly.

The same workbench is available as a web app and a Docker image, where processing happens in the visitor's browser. The desktop app also includes a built-in MCP stdio server so AI agents can compress and resize images, and it supports importing HTML/JavaScript plugins.
