Pipedream is a hosted platform for connecting apps and building event-driven automations. Workflows are linear sequences of steps that run when an event occurs, such as an incoming HTTP request, a timer, or a new row added to a Google Sheet. Each step can be a pre-built action for one of the platform's 1,000+ app integrations, or custom code.

Event sources watch third-party services like GitHub, Slack, Airtable, and RSS and emit events that trigger linked workflows. Events can also be consumed through a REST API or an SSE stream. Destinations deliver events to targets such as Amazon S3, Snowflake, HTTP endpoints, and email.

Custom logic can be written in Node.js, Python, Go, or Bash. Packages can be imported directly in code and dependencies are downloaded automatically. Custom steps can also use connected app accounts, such as a Slack account for posting messages.
