Windows Personalization Utility (WPU) is a set of batch scripts and registry files for Windows 10 and 11. Its main purpose is to pause Windows Updates for a long period, with the pause date set to 12-31-2051, and to turn off Microsoft's telemetry and tracking features.

There are two ways to use it. The full batch utility, wputility.bat, requires administrator rights and offers a menu to enable or disable updates, clean cached update files, manage update services, back up the registry, and run system scans. It also has tweaks for taskbar, Start menu and Explorer settings, a debloat section that removes Windows apps and disables bloat services, and options to remove Copilot, Recall and Cortana. A lighter pair of .reg files pauses and resumes updates without elevated permissions, though it covers only the update pause.

All scripts are plain text and can be read before running. The project recommends checking for updates manually every few months, since skipping patches leaves a system exposed to known vulnerabilities.
