Web ScreenRec is a lightweight screen recorder that runs entirely in the web browser, so it works across platforms without installing a native application. You can open the page locally and start recording right away.

The tool records the screen, microphone and desktop audio at the same time. Recordings can be converted to MP4 with ffmpeg using a single button. It can also be run with Docker Compose.

Because it relies on browser screen-capture permissions, the site must be served over HTTPS/TLS when accessed through the internet, and the included web server sets the CORS headers needed for recording to work. A plain static HTTP server will not be enough.
