What is it?
Facade Code is a fork of VS Code built for working with several AI coding agents at once. Instead of creating a worktree for every agent session, it treats each git worktree as a feature inside a repository, and you assign one or more agents to that feature. The workspace bar lists all repositories and features in one column, and switching between them restores each one's editors, terminals and source control state.
The agents are native CLIs such as Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Muse Code and Qwen Code, running in their own integrated terminals under your existing logins and subscriptions. Agents can launch other agents, send messages to each other, read another agent's terminal and send keystrokes to unblock it, and report decisions that need human approval. All orchestration tools are exposed through a standard MCP server.
The project offers two modes: Super Engineer, where you direct several agents yourself, and Super Team, where a lead agent breaks down a feature, starts workers and reviews their output. Apart from the workspace bar, the activity bar placement and disabled upstream Copilot chat by default, it keeps the stock VS Code editor, settings and extensions. Releases are available for macOS (Apple silicon), Windows (x64) and Ubuntu (x64).
Key features
- 01Groups every repository and feature in a workspace bar, switching each one's editors, terminals and source control.
- 02Creates git worktrees for features, syncing files listed in .worktreeinclude and running setup scripts.
- 03Runs native agent CLIs such as Claude Code, Codex and Qwen Code in integrated terminals using existing subscriptions.
- 04Lets agents launch, message and assist one another, including reading and typing into other agents' terminals.
- 05Exposes orchestration tools through a standard MCP server.
Use cases
- Running several coding agents from different vendors on the same feature branch in one window.
- Splitting a large, well-defined feature across a lead agent and parallel worker agents.
- Juggling multiple projects and worktrees without mixing their editors and terminals.
