Quick start

   Download the resource files (about 2.06 GB)

   python3 scripts/install-release.py --tag v1.2.0-assets

   Install dependencies and start the web app, then open http://localhost:3000

   npm ci && npm run dev

Things to know

• !Requires Node.js 20+, Python 3.9+ and FFmpeg with libmp3lame, and about 2 GB of extra download plus disk space for resources.
• !Progress is saved only in the current browser; there are no cloud accounts or cross-device sync.
• !Speech recognition scoring is not available for read-along recordings.
• !Not all quiz questions have been reviewed by teachers, since the content is AI-generated.

A free, open-source primary-school study platform covering grades 1-6 with unit quizzes, lesson explanations, read-along text and AI-generated stories. Chinese Study Free (聪聪学堂) is a free, non-commercial learning platform for Chinese primary school students from grade 1 to grade 6. It covers math (People's Education Press edition), Chinese (unified edition), English (PEP, grades 3-6) and science (Jiaoke edition), organized by textbook unit and lesson.
