What is it?

Talvio is a desktop voice app built with Tauri 2. Hold a shortcut, speak, and the transcribed text is typed at the cursor in whatever app you are using. Speech-to-text runs on your own computer by default, using models such as Parakeet, Nemotron and Whisper, with optional cloud providers that use your own API key.

Beyond dictation, Talvio includes an assistant you can ask about selected text or your screen and hear answered aloud, a hands-free call mode, and voice commands that open apps and files, control playback and volume, and draft or send email through Gmail. Meetings are recorded as separate microphone and system-audio lanes, transcribed live, and summarized into notes when they end.

A companion Android app can act as a wireless microphone and remote for the computer when both are signed in to the same account. API keys are stored in the operating system keychain, and the project is released under the MIT license.
