What is it?

Timon is a desktop and background-service app for running a team of AI agents on your own machine. You describe a job in plain language, and an orchestrator splits it into tasks and hands each one to a role such as coder, reviewer, merger, researcher or ops. Each coding task runs in its own git worktree, and a second model reviews the diff before it lands. Agents ask for confirmation before pushing, publishing or deleting anything.

Agents run through the agent CLIs you are already signed in to, such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, opencode and Pi, rather than token-billed APIs. Missions keep their turns and tool calls, can be resumed after a failure, and can fall back to another backend when a subscription runs out of quota. Memory from earlier missions is injected into later ones.

The daemon holds all state and runs as a systemd, launchd or Windows scheduled-task service, while the desktop app, browser, phone, Telegram, CLI and remote API act as clients. Plugins for widgets, pages, themes, layouts and providers are built with the @timon-ai/sdk package and can be installed without a restart.

Key features

  • 01Orchestrator breaks a job into tasks and dispatches them to role-based agents
  • 02Each coding task runs in its own git worktree and is reviewed by a second model
  • 03Runs through existing agent CLI subscriptions such as Claude Code and Codex
  • 04Quota fallbacks move work to another backend when one subscription runs out
  • 05Background daemon with desktop, browser, phone, Telegram and CLI clients
  • 06Plugin system with signed plugins that install without a restart

Use cases

  • Letting agents implement and review code changes overnight on a personal machine
  • Running scheduled or webhook-triggered routines against a local repository
  • Coordinating several coding agents on one project without sending work to token-billed APIs
  • Controlling long-running agent missions from a phone or Telegram

Quick start
