What is it?
The toolkit covers the early stages of building a product with AI. Its planning prompts work in any AI chat: they ask targeted questions first, confirm their assumptions, and only then draft documents such as a user research questionnaire, a PRD, a UX and user flow map, an MVP scope, a build plan and a test plan. Each step feeds the next so the documents stay consistent.
The AI App Starter is a set of stage-by-stage instructions, permission rules and testing and CI requirements that a coding agent such as Claude Code follows to build a Next.js, Supabase and Vercel web app with the user, from idea to launch. The starter itself contains no application code; the agent writes the app, tests and checks. Work happens locally with a local database and stand-in payment and email services, and the user pushes and triggers production deploys.
The prompts and starter can also be installed as Claude Code or Codex skills and run by name, and the repository includes agent configuration files (CLAUDE.md-style rules) for Claude Code.
Key features
- 01Planning prompts that interview you before drafting a PRD, UX flows, MVP scope, build plan and test plan
- 02AI App Starter that guides a coding agent through building and launching a Next.js, Supabase and Vercel app
- 03Local-first workflow with a local database and stand-in payment and email services
- 04Installable Claude Code and Codex skills for each planning step and the starter
- 05Agent configuration rules for Claude Code
Use cases
- Turning a rough product idea into a written PRD and MVP scope before coding
- Having a coding agent build and test a small web app from scratch with clear checkpoints
- Standardizing how a team uses Claude Code with shared agent rules
Quick start
- 1
Open Claude Code in a new, empty folder
claude - 2
Paste the setup prompt from the README into the agent to install the AI App Starter
- 3
Ask the agent what's next, then reply continue or do X instead
Things to know
- The AI App Starter is tested with Claude Code desktop only; Codex and the launch stage are not yet tested.
- It needs Node.js, Git and Docker, and GitHub, Vercel and Supabase accounts once the app goes online.
