What is it?

OpenStock is a web app for following stock and crypto markets without a paid terminal subscription. It shows a dashboard covering seven markets (US, India, Germany, Canada, Australia, crypto and forex), with an index pulse, sector heatmap and market leaders. Each stock page offers TradingView candlestick charts with drawing tools and common indicators, plus financials, technicals and company profiles.

Signed-in users can keep a watchlist of up to 50 stocks, set price alerts above or below a target, and receive a weekly AI-written news digest by email. Quotes come from Finnhub, with hourly updates in the hosted version and 15-second updates in realtime mode when self-hosted with your own keys. Background jobs run on Inngest.

The stack is Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Better Auth and MongoDB. It can be run locally with Node.js, deployed with Docker Compose, or deployed to Vercel and Railway. It is licensed under AGPL-3.0.
