What is it?
fontzz is a collection of 36 original type families whose glyphs are generated parametrically by a Python script rather than drawn in a font editor. Each family has three masters (Thin, Regular and Black) and is delivered as a variable font plus nine static weights from 100 to 900, in TTF and WOFF2 formats.
Each family covers 285 characters, including Latin-1, a Latin Extended-A subset, figures, currency symbols and arrows. Kerning is derived from glyph side profiles. Every TTF and WOFF2 file is checked with OTS, the sanitizer used by Chrome and Firefox for web fonts. Cyrillic and Greek are not included yet.
The repository also contains a Vite and React site for previewing the fonts and downloading them, with a bundle of all families available as a zip. The fonts and generator are released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
