What is it?
ShadowBroker is a self-hosted geospatial intelligence dashboard built with Next.js, MapLibre GL, FastAPI and Python. It aggregates more than 60 live public data feeds, including ADS-B aircraft tracking, AIS vessel streams, CelesTrak-based satellite positions, USGS earthquakes, NASA FIRMS wildfires, GPS jamming zones and public traffic cameras, into one map with more than 40 toggleable layers.
Beyond the map, it includes a server-side recon toolkit for DNS, WHOIS, BGP, sanctions and CVE lookups, an optional Shodan overlay, and SAR ground-change detection using NASA OPERA and Copernicus EGMS data. An HMAC-signed command channel lets an external AI agent query telemetry and place markers on the map.
The project has no accounts or product analytics, and the dashboard talks only to your own backend. Live features still make outbound requests to the data providers you enable. The built-in mesh messaging is labeled as an experimental testnet and is not private.
Key features
- 01Aggregates aircraft, ships, satellites, earthquakes, fires and CCTV feeds on one map.
- 02Offers more than 40 toggleable data layers and several visual modes such as satellite, FLIR and NVG.
- 03Includes a recon toolkit for DNS, WHOIS, BGP, certificate and sanctions lookups.
- 04Provides SAR ground-change detection for deformation, flood and damage anomalies.
- 05Exposes an HMAC-signed command channel so AI agents can query data and place map pins.
- 06Runs via Docker Compose with pre-built images.
Use cases
- Tracking government, military or private aircraft movements in near real time.
- Monitoring regional conflicts, disasters and infrastructure outages from public sources.
- Researching open-source intelligence with an AI agent acting as a co-analyst.
- Experimenting with geospatial data layers and map-based OSINT workflows.
